About Me

My name is Marisa Zapata and I am a Mexican-American graphic designer whose art can be described as playful, simplistic and visually appealing. I have been able to develop a graphic style that often focuses on geometric shapes, line work and negative space. 

 

Manifesto

I believe that the key to being a successful designer is to be fearless in your design exploration because each client deserves a unique way to visually communicate. This does not mean that your design will be liked by everyone, but it does mean that your design is notable to your own creative style. I believe a big part of graphic design is to intrigue the viewer to either pick up your book, click on your site or walk across the street to read the fine print. None of that can be done as a designer if we do not continue to seek out solutions that diverge from the norm and create designs that evolve to attract the same audience in new ways.
